Beguile organizer John D'Esposito can't get enough of the Jersey shore.
Not only is he bringing his annual music holiday -- the biggest in New Jersey -- to Asbury Park this could, but he's planning to throw a second, similar holiday three months later in Wildwood, a town with an excellent history of hosting musical events. D'Esposito made the announcement at a Bamboozle kickoff party at Irving Piazza in new york City on Wednesday night.
The festival, which will take place on Aug Twenty-four and Twenty-five, won't be Bamboozle II. D'Esposito and his team will book pop and country, not the punk rock, hip-hop, electronic music and heavy metal that is characteristic of Fool entertainment.
D'Esposito provided extra info about how he intends to squash the huge Bamboozle into Asbury Park. There will indeed be a mainstage on the beach -- the biggest, the promoter recounted, ever built for the 'Boozle. Bamboozle will take over the strip of beach immediately north of Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre, both of which will be utilised for the festival. As of now, swimming and surfing while listening to music will be allowed.
The B-Boy Arena and hip hop stage will be found in the park slightly to the south of the Berkeley Hotel. The Break stage for contest winners will be on Ocean Avenue north of Convention Hall.
D'Esposito plans to recreate Skate N ' Surf -- the first holiday that engendered the Fool -- at Convention Hall. He's got some ambitious plans for the Paramount Theatre, too. A troupe of favourite Bamboozle musicians will perform two live stagings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show : one at Eleven p.m. And one at One a.m.
The festival will run from 5 p.m. Until Eleven p.m. On Fri. the Eighteenth of May and 2 p.m. Until 11 p.m. On Sat. and Sunday. D'Esposito estimates that 105,000 listeners will attend Beguile 2012.
Will the shore town have difficulty accommodating all of those festivalgoers? D'Esposito isn't worried. He suspects that there'll be adequate parking available, and he pointed out that the walk from the train station to the beach is now not than the walk from the Izod Center to MetLife Stadium. It's a heck of lots more breathtaking, too.
Beguile is also creating an electronic wristband system that may permit organizers to keep a record of the crowds and will obviate the need for money.
