Will there be Two Moons on 27th August i.e. tonight? The concept of Two Moons on 27th first aired in 2003 through an e-mail. The rumor must have kept a few people on their toes and pretty busy till tonight, but they don’t know the reality yet.
It surely was a very meek attempt in the year 2003 when someone initiated the job regarding advertising on behalf of Mars. The text therein claimed that on August 27, 2003, our Earth will be in the closest ever encounter with planet Mars in terms of distance, in the recorded history. Due to it’s speculated brightest and closest view with a naked human eye, it will look like the night sky has got two moons simultaneously.
In reality, the distance between the two planets was 34,649,589 miles. True, that it was the closest as compared to September 24, 57,617 B.C. which read 34,621,560 miles. But to the best of my knowledge, no naked eye has got the power to sight such a distant planet as large as a moon. The same e-mail kept on surfacing during 2005, 2006-07-08 and preparing a lot many minds and eyes to mark their calendars for this imaginary event which, according to the ‘Calculations’ done by don’t know whom, will not happen again, in our lives at least. Rather it will be year 2287, just 60,000 years from now on, when the same moment comes again. However since year 2005 onwards, according to very rough calculations, the distance between the two planets had furthered by millions of trillions of miles.
It is year 2009, true. Today is 27th August, true. Mars is traveling in its orbit, true. But what’s not true is; there will be two moons tonight. No way, it’s not going to happen even tonight. 2003 hoax will remain 2009 hoax and we better leave it to the ‘real sources’ to calculate the future events for us who are equipped with the stuff making them capable. Sitting at home can only help you air an e-mail as even in this world, ignorant is easy to fool.
